Privacy policy

This describes the Nuraya iOS and Android apps. You can listen without an account. Questions: contact@nuraya.us.

Who we are

Nuraya is a Quran listening app (bundle id com.nuraya.quran). For privacy requests we are the operator you reach at contact@nuraya.us.

What we collect

We collect as little as the product needs:

On your phone. Listening position, bookmarks, mix settings, downloads, and whether a compassionate-access month is active. This stays on the device unless you sign in.
Account (optional). If you sign in, we store the email you used and sync bookmarks, preferences, and where you stopped, so the same account works on another phone.
Purchases. Subscriptions go through Apple or Google. We use RevenueCat to know whether Premium is active. We do not see your full card number.
Audio. Recitation and translation files are streamed or downloaded from Cloudflare. Those requests include a network address, as any website would.
Sign-in mail. One-time codes are sent to your email by our auth provider (Supabase, and the mail service behind it).
Crashes. If error reporting is on, Sentry may receive the app version, device type, OS, and a stack trace — not your name or email. We do not ask Sentry to send extra personal details.
Compassionate access. If you request a gift month, we keep a record of that grant so it can be applied on your account and not duplicated carelessly.

We do not collect precise location, contacts, photos, or your microphone. We do not run advertising SDKs or sell lists of listeners.

Why

To play audio, remember where you stopped, restore a purchase, sync an account you chose to create, send a sign-in code, fix crashes, and honour a compassionate-access grant. That is the list.

Who else sees it

Processors that help us run the app, not to market to you:

Apple and Google — store accounts and in-app purchases
RevenueCat — subscription status
Supabase — optional account, sync, and sign-in codes
Cloudflare — audio files, this website, and inbound mail routing
Sentry — crash reports, when enabled

Each of those has its own privacy policy. Store purchases are also governed by Apple’s or Google’s terms.

How long

Device data lasts until you delete the app or clear it. Account data lasts until you ask us to delete the account. Purchase records follow Apple, Google, and tax rules. Crash reports are kept only as long as they are useful to fix the app.

Your choices

Use Nuraya without signing in.
Sign out in Settings. That does not erase purchases on the store account.
Email contact@nuraya.us to access, correct, or delete account data we hold. Say which email you signed in with.
Manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple or Google account, not inside a chat with us.

If you are in the EEA, UK, or a similar regime, you may also have rights to object, restrict processing, or complain to a data protection authority. Contact us first and we will help.

Children

Nuraya is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your country). We do not knowingly collect their personal information.

This site

nuraya.us is a static site. We do not put a marketing tracker on these pages. Cloudflare may process connection data as it would for any site they host.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date above. The current version will always live at https://nuraya.us/privacy.
