These terms govern the Nuraya apps for iOS and Android. Privacy is described separately at nuraya.us/privacy. Contact: contact@nuraya.us.
Nuraya lets you listen to Quran recitation paired with spoken translation, and to read the text. You need a compatible phone, and a network connection to stream audio that is not already saved on the device.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive licence to use the app. You may not scrape, bulk download, or redistribute our audio or text for your own service.
Reading text is free for all 114 surahs. Listening is limited unless you have Premium, a trial, or compassionate access: five surahs in full, and a short preview of every other surah. We may adjust that free range, but we will not interrupt a recitation already in progress to do it.
Premium is an auto-renewing subscription sold through the App Store or Google Play. It opens listening to all 114 surahs, any offered reciter paired with any offered translation, and extras in the app such as bookmarks, mix controls, playback speed, downloads, and the sleep timer.
Payment is charged to your Apple or Google account. The subscription renews unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. After purchase, the account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You manage or cancel in your Apple or Google subscription settings, not by emailing us. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.
Prices in the store listing are the prices that apply. If they differ from this page, the store wins.
If you cannot pay, you may request a month of access from inside the app. It is a gift, it expires, and you may ask again. It is not a store purchase and it is not a guarantee we can always offer it.
An account is optional. It exists so a subscription and bookmarks can travel with you. You are responsible for the email you use to sign in. We may close an account that is used to abuse grants or to break these terms.
The Quran is not our property. Recitations and translations are used under the rights we have or are seeking; some voices may be marked as in recording or unavailable. Do not treat Nuraya as a replacement for a printed mushaf or for a scholar.
We aim to keep Nuraya available, but audio hosts, stores, and networks fail. The app is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost listening position, failed downloads, or time you could not play. Our total liability for a claim about the app is limited to the amount you paid us for Premium in the 12 months before the claim, or USD $50 if you paid nothing.
We may update these terms. The date at the top will change. Continued use after an update is acceptance of the new terms. If a court strikes one clause, the rest still apply. These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where your local consumer law cannot be waived.
